With my Chemo Brain, I kept forgetting what my doctors were telling me about my medications.  Agnes was always very patient and caring in explaining my chemo regimen and side effects.  She knew exactly what I was taking and why.  I saw her for weekly appointments during treatment, and continue to see her now during rehab.  It's like she's always there with me holding my hand. I can't thank her enough! - V.F.

Fatigue

Constipation and diarrhea

Delayed wound healing

Immune support

Additionally, by incorporating acupuncture into your oncology care, you may be able to decrease the number of medications you're taking.  Agnes works closely with your oncology team in providing a treatment plan and supporting your care.  Her knowledge of blood chemistry allows her to explain lab results to her patients, as well as use blood work as a tool in her patients recovery.  This integrative approach to cancer treatment is shown to be highly effective in patient outcomes.

During recovery, acupuncture can help side effects of pain medications and assist in increasing your range of motion, getting you back to yourself sooner.  Agnes develops a unique transition plan for each of her patients incorporating nutrition, detox protocols, manual therapies and continued immune support.

Agnes has additional training from the MD Anderson Cancer Center Integrative Medicine program in utilizing acupuncture in oncology as well as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Oncology Acupuncture program.  This highly detailed and informative program ensures the highest quality of care for her patients, and provides cutting edge information on newest research data and most effective approaches.

As an Oncology Acupuncturist at Cancer Rehab Austin, Agnes works in a multidisciplinary clinic providing out patient services for cancer patients and survivors.  Please following the link for more information on this specialized clinic (the first of its kind in Austin).

In collaboration with Highland Lakes Acupuncture, Agnes provided acupressure services in the infusion room at Texas Oncology Central.  This has allowed her to treat many patients during active chemotherapy infusions, building her experience and expertise.

She also provides care to participants of Stiletto Stampede for the Cure "Boob Camp" rehabilitation program.  This program focused on breast cancer survivors as they recover from various surgeries.  She used acupuncture to alleviate pain and discomfort, stimulate tissue regeneration to aid in scar repair and increasing mobility.
